Mine are new tho and they take an age to bed in. Because of the elastomer set up they are hideously unplush (i can hardly compress them with the preload out and im 14/15 stone!). (and in the sales you could snag a bargain). Its surprising how much better you can get with the next models up. Didnt realise they were made by suntour, thought they just had similar internals.theyre very stiff and better than the RST etc rivals on an entry level bike, but if your actually serious about getting forks i would keep rigids a little longer and save up a bit more. Theyre the best entry level forks you can get. The 053 C2R shock is Marzocchi's flagship Enduro air shock it features high and low speed compression and rebound adjust plus a three way trail selector lever with adjustable gate. Minimal spring preload is recommended for betterperformance and longer working life of the springs, so it is better to changeto a stiffer spring rate than to add significant preload (10+ turns.).

Spring preload is used to fine-tune the spring rate to adjust forthe proper sag measurement. Marzocchi forks can usethe maximum amount of preload from the adjuster and the fork will still getfull travel. Preloading the springs will compress them slightly andincrease the initial force needed to compress the spring. Spring preload can be done with the external adjusters ontop of the fork.
